Gearchange

Postby Beagler » Mon May 14, 2018 5:15 pm

Cant get to grips with this clutchless gearchange. Hold throttle and change gear and it is far from whatyou might call slick. Prefer to use clutch.
There is also a gear advisory symbol but it only points up even when bikes labouring.

Any comments welcome.

I've always partly shut the throttle when doing
a clutchless shift, it takes the load off the gears
& allows them to change easier. Not sure if this
would help on a newer bike. Is the clutchless
gearchange a feature of the bike, or are you
trying for a smoother gearchange?

The only solution to that is practice & lots of it, or is
that just an excuse to make the most of the good weather

Done 800 miles and only had it a month. Still not used to that gear change. The Akrapovic silencer has made the engine smoother and sounds great. Gives 3BHP more and a little more torque according to blurb.

Hi Beagler
Im New to the forum but when i took my gsa with quickshifter in for its first service the after sales manager steve asked me if i was happy with the quickshift? I said i was. He then told me that the quick shifter can be reset back to factory setting as it adapts to your way of riding. I know this sounds like bull, but im only telling you what Bmw told me. So if you bought the bike second hand, there is a chance the guy you bought the bike off, as a totally differant riding style to you. They also say that when setting off slowly say in a built up situation you should change to second using the clutch.
